Vladimir Heifetz (1893-1970) was born in Russia, but was an active composer, pianist, and conductor in the New York area for almost fifty years, with an output that includes film scores, oratorios, cantatas, and numerous Yiddish songs and arrangements. His Fayer, fayer has been adapted to celebrate one of Chanukah’s favorite foods: Fire, fire, oy! it’s hot! Hot latkes!
